This I Believe about POLITICS

Date: Novemeber 5th (day before elections!) 8:00 p.m.

Location:HSC Sky Room

Election season is in, and here is a chance for you to express and share your beliefs on politics! Write an essay about anything relating to politics such as elections, government, or laws. Please no attacks or disrespectful language. After writing your essay, come out and read your essay to the audience to get ready for elections the next day!

“Read to a Huskie”

Date: October 7th, 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Location: DeKalb Public Library

NIU students and the local DeKalb library will be getting together to share an experience of reading! Come and volunteer at the library, and listen to a child read to you. Volunteer to listen, and to read. Sign-up with your name and email address via email at firstconn@niu.edu.

 

Dan Gediman Visit

Date: September 18th at 7:00 p.m. and September 19th at 11:00 a.m.

Location: Holmes Student Center, Carl Sandburg Auditorium (both days)

FREE This I Believe Buttons

Date: September 4th and 5th 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Locations: MLK Commons,  DuSable, and Holmes Student Center

Stop by our tables on your way to class and get a free “This I Believe” button! Write in a word that describes what you believe and wear it around campus. Ask others about their buttons and let people know about yours too!

 

Class of 2016 Chalking Mural

Date: August 29th 3:00-6:00 p.m.

Location: MLK Commons

Come out and leave your mark! Stop by MLK Commons and sign the mural with a word or phrase about what you believe! Show campus what class of 2012-2013 believes!
