Schedule for Transfer Students
The one-day program begins with check-in at 8:30 a.m. (April Programs) or 8:15 a.m. (June/July/August programs) in the Holmes Student Center, Gallery Lounge. For most students, the program will end by late afternoon. Plan to reserve the whole day for your orientation activities.
- A welcome by an NIU staff member who will provide you with materials and directions
- An explanation of degree requirements and university resources
- An explanation of the NIU course registration system
- An opportunity for placement and proficiency testing
- A meeting with your undergraduate college
- Academic Advising
- An opportunity for course registration (according to the NIU registration Schedule)
